The college tour of 2018 batch BBA LLB (Hons) (5s10) started on 5th September 2023. The journey began with an exciting visit to Agra, home to some of India's most iconic landmarks. We started our day at Agra Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where we marveled at its grandeur and rich history. In the afternoon, we made our way to the breathtaking Taj Mahal, a true architectural marvel and one of the Seven Wonders of the World. The journey continued to Fatehpur Sikri, a city steeped in history. We explored the magnificent red sandstone buildings, including the Buland Darwaza, and learned about the fascinating history of Emperor Akbar's abandoned city. Jaipur, the Pink City, welcomed us with its vibrant culture and beautiful landmarks. We started with a visit to Hawa Mahal, known for its intricate windows. Next, we explored Jantar Mantar, an observatory filled with astronomical marvels. The City Palace offered us insights into the royal heritage, and the Jal Mahal, a palace in the middle of a lake, was truly enchanting. Our day concluded with a visit to the majestic Amber Fort. We journeyed to Amritsar, a city known for its rich Sikh heritage. Our first stop was Jallianwala Bagh, where we paid our respects to the tragic events of 1919. Later, we witnessed the electrifying Wagah Border ceremony, a display of patriotism between India and Pakistan. The day ended on a serene note as we visited the Golden Temple, an iconic spiritual site. Our return to the capital city, Delhi, marked a busy day of exploration. We began at the impressive Qutub Minar, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, followed by a visit to the historic Jama Masjid. In the afternoon, some retail therapy in Delhi's bustling markets allowed us to pick up souvenirs. Our final day in Delhi was dedicated to exploring its political and administrative landmarks. We started at the Supreme Court,the highest judicial authority in the country and then moved on to Rashtrapati Bhavan (the President's Residence).The sprawling complex and beautiful gardens were a testament to the country's architectural and administrative heritage.Durbar Hall is one of the most impressive and iconic spaces inside Rashtrapati Bhavan. This grand hall is used for hosting ceremonial events, including the swearing-in ceremonies of the President and other official functions. The hall features intricate architectural details, including a stunning dome, chandeliers, and a central throne for the President during official events.The Rashtrapati Bhavan Museum offers visitors a glimpse into the history and legacy of India's Presidents. It houses a collection of artifacts, photographs, and memorabilia related to past Presidents, showcasing their contributions to the nation. Rashtrapati Bhavan includes various state rooms, which have hosted dignitaries from around the world. These rooms are elegantly decorated and are often used for meetings, banquets, and diplomatic functions. Ashoka Hall is known for its magnificent frescoes that depict scenes from the life of Emperor Ashoka. It is a venue for important ceremonies and events. While the private residential quarters of the President are not typically open to the public, they are known for their opulent decor and historical significance. Rashtrapati Bhavan houses an extensive collection of art and artifacts, showcasing India's rich cultural heritage. The interior is adorned with exquisite paintings, sculptures, and decorative elements that reflect various Indian art forms. After that we visited the Parliament where the country's laws and policies are debated and enacted. The grandeur of the Parliament House was awe-inspiring. It provided us with insights into the legislative process and the history of Indian democracy. We learned about the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, the two houses of Parliament, and the vital role they play in shaping the nation's future.A visit to India Gate, a war memorial, was a moving experience. We concluded our tour with some more shopping to bring back memories of our incredible journey. Our visit to the Supreme Court, Parliament, and Rashtrapati Bhavan was a valuable educational experience that deepened our understanding of India's democratic institutions and governance. It underscored the importance of these institutions in upholding the principles of justice, democracy, and leadership in our nation. We left with a sense of pride and respect for the functioning of these vital institutions in our democratic framework.
